The world is certainly starting to feel back to normal spending time with friends and family, going on holiday and shopping yet when we are privy to reading the latest news articles and hearing sadness of job losses and supply chain issues affecting price increases on our daily essentials the aftermath of the pandemic really hits home.

How apprenticeships help fill the employment gap

Many industries continue to be in recovery whilst skilled labour in certain sectors is seeing the highest figures for some time in shortages of skilled employees as people who struggled to retain their jobs sought alternative employment or saw the positives that life really can be too short, and it was time for a complete career change! What better way to explore the next chapter than to consider doing an apprenticeship and seeing the benefits this can bring to any person at any age it really is never too late.

There is a breadth of opportunity working within the Emergency Services sector and an apprenticeship route offers multiple benefits to help bridge the gaps we are seeing in employment and fulfil a vital role within our communities in keeping the public safe and responding and providing vital services that are so desperately needed.

We continue as a nation to strive towards achieving the government pledge to distribute 20,000 police officers into the streets which has already been heavily supported through the apprenticeship journey alongside other vital professions within the sector such as firefighters, nurses, social care and support staff.

The apprenticeship levy has already provided so much opportunity and it is vital we do as much as we can as providers and public sector bodies to support one another and work together in providing this route to employment and utilising the funding to educate and train people into desperately needed skilled roles.
